Provinces: Modern day: Feylands. Pre-Feylands: temperate forests.

Average Height: 3 feet at top of head.

Average Length: 30-40 feet.

Average Weight: One ton

Life Span: 1,500-2,000 years

Description: Snake-like and sinewy, the rumptifusel is a creature that is rarely seen on the ground. Making their homes in the branches of the tallest trees, rumptifusels are nocturnal and are rarely seen during the day.

Rumptifusels have long, ferret-like faces. Their bodies are long and flat, perfect for tucking around tree trucks. With six pairs of legs and brutally strong muscles, there are few trees a rumptifusel cannot climb in seconds.

Sexual Dimorphism: Females tend to be skinnier than males, but there are practically no outwardly physical differences between the two genders.

Colors and Markings: Rumptifusel fur is a mixture of browns, blacks, and greys, helping them naturally blend into tree trunks. Their skin, which is only visible on their hands, is a pink-brown or grey. Their noses are grey or black. It can be difficult to tell one rumptifusel from another.

Common Magical Abilities: Rumptifusels are Greater Fey. As such, they can have anywhere from fifteen to twenty different magical abilities. Invisibility, glamours, illusions, and teleportation are all common rumptifusel abilities.

Physical Abilities: Rumptifusels are fast and nimble, capable of scurrying up and tree in the blink of an eye. However, they are physically weak and have difficulties fighting off opponents on physical strength alone. Rumptifusels are also poor jumpers, and use their long bodies to stretch from tree to tree. They have excellent night vision, being nocturnal, but are sensitive to sunlight and bright lights.

Reproduction: Rumptifusels were once much more common, found easily draped around a branch. It was easy for them to find a mate, and have three to four little hairless rumptifusels. However, their population was severely hit around the time of the Feylands, and now they are hard to find. Because of this, it is much more difficult for them to find a mate, let alone with their low fertility actually succeed in producing offspring. A rumptifusel, once born, typically matures around 400 years of age, but can start taking care of itself around 300 years of age.
