Location:
Themble is located on the continent of Vose, on its eastern coast. Themble is bordered by the Lel Sea to the east and the Cenen Sea to the south. To the southeast are a trail of islands leading southeast, called the Sparrow Islands. These islands are the border between the Lel and Cenen Seas. To the north are the the Bevenkras Mountains, and to the west, the Hamish Mountains. On the other side of the Bevenkras Mountains, about 50 miles north, is the border to the Feylands. The stretch of land between the mountains and Feylands is called the Barrier. It has not been a part of any monarchy in more than a hundred years, due to the Themblise’s fears of the Fey. Only a few towns, governed by their own laws, populate the Barrier. Otherwise, the only ones to pass through the Barrier are those traveling through the Clovenhoof Pass in the Bevenkras Mountains, to go through the Artesh Pass in order to enter the neighboring province of Darid to the west.
Size
Themble is about 119,635 square miles in size. In comparison, the state of Nevada is 110,577 square miles, Although, if the Barrier was added, it would total to approximately 121,800 square miles. Themble is 337 miles at its widest point and 355 miles at its longest point.

Climate
Themble has a “hot-summer Mediterranean climate,” meaning that it has hot, dry summers and wet, rainy winters. Typically, the summers sit around 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but can spike to 115-117 degrees Fahrenheit. The winters are chilly, at about 45 degrees Fahrenheit, but can fluctuate between 35 degrees Fahrenheit to 50 degrees Fahrenheit on an unusual day. Average precipitation is about 5-6 inches every month during the wintertime.
The coastal breezes often mean that the coastline is a few degrees cooler than the valley. The mountain ranges surrounding Themble are chillier, but it takes traveling about 1,000 feet up to feel any considerable change. The highest points of the mountain ranges get snow consistently through the winter season. During extreme parts of winter, Themble may see about 1-3 inches of snow in the valley.
Biomes
Themble varies depending on where one is. The Hamish and Bevenkras mountain ranges get a foot or less of snow each year. Mount Lark and Mount Chaeropan both receive a foot to two feet of snow or more every winter. Pine forests cover the peaks of the mountain ranges.
Maithas, before the Black King expanded its territory, had the most hills of all of the monarchies. Its scrub, blue, and valley oak trees, dotted here and there with towering digger pines, make homes for lumber mills. While former Pemembras and Bevenkras, along with Croon, have hills, all three monarchies are mostly plains, hidden in the valley.
Along the coasts of Croon, and former Pemembras and Bevenkras, are steep cliffs and hills punctuated by pale stone. These geographical features provide the valley protection from the harsh oceanic winds.
When there were four monarchies, Croon had the most valley land. Even with the Black King conquering Pemembras and Bevenkras, the same can still be said. The valley is an agricultural heaven, with rich, varied soil suitable for many different varieties of crops. Because the valley, Themble’s economy is agriculturally based.
