A 2019 sketch of Ireen and her older sister Suebin. Those blood oranges were delicious.
Suebin is the oldest of Antona and Sejon's four children, and the elder sister to Ireen. There is only a two year age gap between the two sisters, and although Suebin's marriage and children has caused their friendship to falter, the two are still incredibly close.
A sketch of Ireen from 2019. I thoroughly enjoyed buying produce from the farmers market for a series of sketches back then.
Ireen's homeland, Themble, is a province of fertile soil, with plentiful crops. As a chef, Ireen both heavily appreciates the delicious quality and sheer abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit. A childhood drought often reminds her to be grateful for what she has now.
I love living in my own agricultural haven, where I can purchase farm grown vegetables and fruits myself. It definitely supplies tons of inspiration!
Antona is Ireen's mother. Her four children: Suebin, Ireen, Neto, and Luca, have caused her brown hair to turn a couple of shades lighter over the years, but she loves her family with all of her heart. A basketweaver by trade, Antona is an introvert who loves to bask in the warmth of the sun. To the surprise of those who have just met her, Antona has a loud, expressive laugh that just seems to burst out from nowhere. She is not the best cook (unlike Ireen), but that doesn't mean she won't try to feed every visitor she gets.
Antona is Ireen's mother. Puberty has turned him into a klutz, covered him with painful acne, and is giving him ~feelings~ about girls of all things! Sixteen is not a great age to be.
Neto has a flair for the dramatics, and would probably write sappy poetry about how no one understands him, if he only knew what poetry was.
For now, Neto works at the docks, sorting freshly caught fish and repairing nets and sails. He aspires for more, although he isn't sure of what yet.

Carcella, Ireen's boss and former master. Carcella is a chef and a restaurant owner, quick on her feet and quicker with her tongue. This coyote therian taught Ireen everything she knew, from Ireen's humble beginnings as a dishwasher, to the chef she is now.

Luca - Ireen's youngest brother. A complete troublemaker, Luca always seems to be covered in scabs, cuts, bruises, and dirt. Every bug must be poked, every crab messed with, every dark corner explored. Sometimes his mother, Antona, is amazed he's lived this long.

Marla is a talented drummer for the Black King, as a part of his musical troupe. Shy and quiet, Marla enjoys the company of people from the fringes of a crowd.

Onu is the master charmcaster for the Black King. He not only manages the other charmcasters in the palace, but also invents new magical runes and charms. Onu is never quite in top shape, plagued by constant allergies and sleepless nights. He lost the use of his back legs when he was a pup from a wagon accident but this never stopped him from pursuing his passion - magic.
